Air Receiver Replacement for a WA Industrial Facility
Nessco Pressure Systems replaced an ageing air receiver at a WA facility operated by a global supplier to the mining, freight rail and oil and gas industries.
The project required careful planning because our team could only complete the work during a scheduled Sunday shutdown. The new receiver and pipework needed to be installed and ready for production to restart at 6 am Monday.
Replacing the existing air receiver
NPS planned the replacement around the site’s existing compressed air system and the limited installation window.
Our team disconnected and removed the pipework from the old receiver before removing the vessel from service.
We then installed a new 2,400 L air receiver and fabricated new bends to connect it to the existing compressed air system.
The installation also included 80 mm Infinity aluminium compressed air pipework to complete the connection between the new receiver and the existing distribution system.
Working around the customer’s production schedule
For industrial facilities, replacing compressed air equipment isn’t always simply a matter of completing the installation. The work often needs to fit around production, shutdowns and other site requirements.
For this project, NPS coordinated the air receiver replacement within the available Sunday shutdown period, allowing the facility to return to normal operation for the start of the working week.
