How a new compressed air system helped Perth’s leading bakery, Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie, meet rising production demands and reduce annual energy costs.
Customer background
For more than 25 years, Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie has been delighting Perth with the traditional Swiss art of baking.
Established in 1997 on Rokeby Road in Subiaco and later expanding to West Leederville in 2005, the patisserie is renowned for its exceptional range of breads, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and artisan treats, all crafted with a commitment to passion, tradition, and excellence.
With a strong reputation for quality and consistency, the business has continued to grow. The expansion of production and increased customer demand placed greater pressure on their existing equipment, including the compressed air system, which plays a critical role in daily bakery operations.
The challenge
As a long-term service customer of Nessco Pressure Systems (NPS), Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie relied on the NPS team for regular compressor maintenance, receiver inspections, and breakdown support.
When their smaller compressor failed in early 2025, the breakdown had the potential to disrupt production and lead to costly downtime.
With further growth planned, the business needed a replacement system that was reliable, energy-efficient, and tailored to their operational setup, including equipment installed in a roof-level location.
The solution
Drawing on years of compressed air experience and a detailed understanding of the patisserie’s needs, NPS recommended and installed a Venti KME C7 HD 270 E IE3 full feature compressor system, which includes a 270L receiver and refrigerant dryer.
This package offered improved energy efficiency and stable, dry air delivery, making it ideal for a business where consistency and reliability are essential.
The new compressor installation was also designed to deliver and maintain moisture-free, contaminant-free, clean air to support Chez Jean Claude Patisserie’s food-processing requirements.
The installation required several tailored solutions to ensure safety, performance, and compliance:
- Removal of the existing compressor and draining of the system
- Installation of three-phase power to accommodate the new compressor
- Crane and rigging support for installation of new compressor in a roof-mounted location
- Custom ducting to support airflow and temperature control
- Installation of Infinity Pipe Systems’ inline filters (pre-coalescing, coalescing and absorption), in accordance with client site requirements
- WorkSafe WA receiver registration and inspection in accordance with AS 4343:2024
- Compressor shed modifications to protect the new system from the elements
To maintain operations, a temporary compressor was arranged so production could continue uninterrupted while installation was completed.
The full system was commissioned in March 2025 at NPS’s Welshpool workshop before being safely installed onsite by the service team.
The results
Since the installation, Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie has experienced:
- Improved energy efficiency, reducing operating costs
- Consistent air pressure across production equipment, ensuring reliable operation
- Reduced downtime through a more robust, properly sized system
The new system has also reduced the need for additional service interventions, providing a reliable and scalable compressed air solution that supports future growth.
The outcome
By upgrading to a full-feature compressor system, Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie now operates with a compressed air setup that is more efficient, reliable, and ready to support ongoing business growth.
The tailored installation demonstrates how Nessco Pressure Systems goes beyond standard service, delivering end-to-end support from system design and installation through to compliance and long-term maintenance.
A partnership approach
Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie chose NPS for our proactive service, industry expertise, and ability to deliver a complete turnkey solution, from design and installation to compliance and after-sales support.
With a deep understanding of the site’s layout, production requirements, and operational constraints, the NPS team was able to design and install a system that met the client’s needs while ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
Customer feedback

“I would like to thank you for the good organisation of the job to install our new compressor system.
All done and working well, the boys did a great job and really took care of the job. Thankfully my electrician was able to assist on time, so everything went well, and the machine is running perfectly.
Nice to work with you and thank you again for all the useful information regarding the filters and other parts of the new system.”
—Jean-Claude Sterchi, Owner, Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie (March 2025)
Key takeaways
Regardless of industry, even small businesses can achieve significant gains in energy efficiency and reliability using modern, correctly sized compressor technology.
When a compressor is undersized and forced to meet expanding production demands, it will inevitably struggle despite regular servicing. In contrast, a properly sized system that delivers and stores the right volume of clean, dry air operates more efficiently and delivers immediate savings in both energy use and maintenance costs.
A carefully planned installation also ensures compliance, safety, and long-term operational performance.
